Event on 2012-08-02 22:00:00

Antioquia

Antioquia [an-tee-OH-kee-ah] is touring the Midwest in celebration of the release of their second full-length album, My Piano ate the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle. Living and rehearsing in Oakland, California, Antioquia is quickly becoming one of the San Francisco Bay Area's premier rock bands. The group's peculiar mixture of groove oriented psychedelic rock and the poly-rhythmic traditional music of West Africa and Colombia is catching audiences and critics on fire in at home and around the western states.

"The album is filled with ready to rock-out fixtures, and it's all fit for a feel good time." - Michelle Broder Van Dyke, San Francisco Chronicle

"Politics and social inquiry are rarely so mouthwatering..." -Dennis Cook, Jambase.com

"Like a wild and fantastic expedition" - Rima Ralff, The Taos News

"A live powerhouse" - Ryan Heinsius, Flagstaff Live

My Piano... is available on the band's website, www.antioquia-band.com, as a by donation download. You may also stream the entire album or buy a physical copy in a gorgeous hand pressed package with cover art by second time collaborator Tobias Greene (drawinginthedark.com). One dollar from each physical album sold in 2010 will be donated to Fellowship of Reconciliation Colombia, an organization that works to inform and involve concerned US citizens about the conflict in Colombia, US policy towards it, and about nonviolent alternatives to the war and political violence.(www.forcolombia.org)
Sky Blue Waters

Born on a frozen Minneapolis night in late 2006, Sky Blue Waters began with a dream: To blow minds! Or… just to give Ross Blanshan and Nate Anderson something to pass the hazy hours. Ross brought with Travis Beck from the Bluegrass band Green River Outfit. Add a dash of Metal honed bassist Mike Holden and some Wisconsin for good measure from Steve Luebke on drums and the Rawk was born! Combining musical influences from across the spectrum a blend of Rawk & Roll, Blues & Grass and Jam & Jazz comes forth to get your spirit and your feet moving
