I'm planning 2 stay in New York, so can I still use my chicago insurance?

I am staying der but I've seen sum people with Texas plate 4 more den a year living in NY...

How long are you staying in New York? If you're just visiting for a few days/weeks, you're good, but if you're moving there, you'll have to change your drivers license and plates there, probably within 30 days.

Since you state you are planning to stay in New York, notify your current agent of your new address. If they are allowed to write policies in New York you can keep the same coverage but get a different agent, and then it will be New York insurance. If not you will have to get covered there.
ReplyDeletethe only thing you have to change in NY is your license...within 10 days of moving to NY....you can keep your out of state plates and insurance as there is no law against that...
ReplyDeleteeveryone here gets michigan, connecticut, texas or north carolina plates and insurance as new york is outrageously high...for insurance and registration fees...and they keep getting higher!
